The end of a fly fishing line or leader that the fly is tied to.

Fly fishing line is designed to float and is normally very thick requiring a separate line tied to the end to attach the fly.

Skipper's Tip #301 - If you like to use braided line make sure you use a proper knot. Braided line does not hold knots as well as mono so try adding a drop of superglue to keep your knot from coming undone.
