This map is adapted to locate / re-locate food and water in a survival situation; start by marking camp on a piece of paper, walk in one direction and draw a line from camp, mark the time it takes to reach the next notable landmark, draw this and continue.

Making a patrol map can be extremely advantageous if you need to send someone else off to get water etc..
